Description
Deutsch: Das ehemalige Olympische Dorf Berlin der Olympischen Sommerspiele 1936 liegt im brandenburgischen Elstal, rund 20 Kilometer westlich des Berliner Olympiastadions.

Die Häuser wurden erstmals massiv gebaut, da das NS-Regime die Anlage nach den Olympischen Spielen als Kaserne nutzen wollte. Das Olympische Dorf wurde von den Brüdern Werner March und Walter March geplant und in den Jahren 1934 bis 1936 errichtet. Nach den Olympischen Spielen wurden auf dem Gelände eine Infanterieschule und ein Infanterie-Lehrregiment untergebracht. Das Speisehaus der Nationen wurde als Militärhospital, genannt Olympialazarett eingerichtet. Diese Nutzung war bereits beim Entwurf des Gebäudes berücksichtigt worden. Das Olympische Dorf steht heute unter Denkmalschutz.

Die DKB-Stiftung für gesellschaftliches Engagement hat das historische Olympische Dorf erworben und kümmert sich um die Erhaltung der verbliebenen Gebäude.
