| Description |
English: Omagh Methodist Church. This Church was built in 1857. In taking a closer look, there is a plaque between the two sets of steps, on the exterior reading "Methodist Chapel A.D. 1811" which was taken from the previous Church that had been sited alongside where the car park is situated. This stone was found when the new halls were excavated in 1966. It was built in 1811 and demolished in 1857. It is fairly likely that the stone wall which bounds the steps down the halls, was the original wall of this 1811 church. The Primitive Methodist Church was located on the Dublin Road but shortly after the Union in 1878, the 90 members re-joined the main church 623875. |
