The Watershed Martyr's Memorial premises at Sherathang was built to commemorate the Indian Army's martyrs and war heroes of 1967 Nathu La and Cho La clashes. The Memorial was completed in 15th February 2008. Apart from the War Memorial, in the premises there is a 100 mm gun of Russian Origin which took a vital part against Pakistani tanks during the 1971, The Ganju Lama War Museum, and several memorial plaques in the name of brave soldiers of India who laid their lives in defence of the Indian state of Sikkim and soldiers of Sikkim orogin who have fought valiantly in other parts of the country. |
