Nederlands: Oorlogsmonument in de buurt van de Wapendroppings tijdens de 2e Wereldoorlog. Tekst: Wapendroppings 1940-1945. Beschermd door een muur van zwijgzaamheid van de Lekkerkerkse bevolking. Het ontwerp van Arie Ros is een klein metalen vliegtuigje waarbij containers en parachutes te zien zijn die het material dropten, staanders met rozen, symbolen voor de codes die gebruikt werden om boodschappen over te brengen via Radio Oranje en tussen de staanders een schouw (bootje) waarmee het materiaal naar schuilplaatsen werd vervoerd. Het monument is onthuld op 28 april 1998. |
