| Description |
English: Japanese manuscript from the Edo period dealing with materia medica brought to the shogun's court in Edo (Japan) in 1650. The explanations were given by the German surgeon Caspar Schamberger and translated into Japanese presumably by the interpreter Inomata Dembei. This manuscript is one of those copies circulating among adherents of the "Caspar-style external medicine" (Kasuparu-ryū geka). Michel Collection, Kyushu University Library (Fukuoka, Japan).
Deutsch: Edo-zeitliche japanische Handschrift über Materia medica, die 1650 zum Hofe des Shōgun in Edo (Japan) gebracht wurden. Die Erklärungen gehen auf den Leipziger Chirurgen Caspar Schamberger zurück und wurden wahrscheinlich vom Dolmetscher Inomata Dembei übersetzt.
