Summary edit

Description
English: Rock salt (a.k.a. halitite) is a crystalline-textured, ~monomineralic, chemical sedimentary rock. It is composed of the mineral halite (NaCl - sodium chloride). Rock salt is the most common example of evaporite - a sedimentary deposit that forms by the evaporation of water (usually seawater) and the precipitation of dissolved minerals.
