Description
English: M117, 500-pound and 1000-pound bombs line the flight deck of the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Oriskany (CVA-34) during Vietnam War combat operations in the South China Sea, 21 August 1966. On deck are various aircraft of Attack Carrier Air Wing 16 (CVW-16): Douglas A-4E Skyhawk of Attack Squadron VA-164 Ghost Riders (AH-4XX), an A-4E of VA-163 Saints (AH-3XX), Vought F-8E Crusader of Fighter Squadron VF-162 Hunters (AH-2XX), and Douglas A-1H Skyraider from VA-152 Friendlies.
