Español: Retrato imaginario del rey Ordoño II de León (c.871-924). Fue hijo del rey Alfonso III de Asturias y de la reina Jimena de Asturias. Sometió a su autoridad los territorios del reino leonés y combatió exitosamente contra los musulmanes, que aún dominaban la mayor parte de la Península Ibérica. Su reinado supuso el tránsito tácito y tranquilo del reino de Asturias al reino de León, con la sede regia ya establecida definitivamente en la ciudad de León, en cuya catedral fue sepultado.
