Summary edit
DescriptionOrenco MAX station signs indicating destinations of trains on opposite sides of station platform (2017).jpg | Sign on the platform of Orenco station on the MAX Light Rail system, extending towards the north and south sides of the platform (at left and right, respectively), to indicate which side of the platform is served by trains in which direction. Trains bound for [downtown] Hillsboro stop on the north side of the platform, while trains bound for downtown Portland (which TriMet refers to as the 'city center') and onward to Gresham stop on the south side. From its opening in 1998 until 2017, the station was named "Orenco/NW 231st Avenue". The platform signs – which presumably are very expensive to update, unlike most media for MAX riders – have retained the old, longer name for the station identification (still the case in February 2024). |
