Description
日本語: 羽越本線・折渡トンネル（秋田県由利本荘市、羽後岩谷 - 折渡間）。折渡方（秋田方）坑口より。1924年に貫通したこのトンネルは難土質のため日本で初めてシールド工法を採用したが、施工管理の難しさから中途で断念され、在来の工法に切り替えられた。1971年に複線化のため新たなトンネルが開通し、こちらは下り線用のトンネルとなった。
