Description

Hôtel Groslot.

Jacques Groslot, bailli de la ville, fit construire à la Renaissance cette maison. L’hôtel Groslot est construit sous la direction de l'architecte Jacques Ier Androuet du Cerceau. Le 18 octobre 1560, le roi François II s’installe avec sa cour dans l'hôtel pour marquer son opposition à Jérôme Groslot, fervent partisan de la Réforme protestante. François II meurt à hôtel Groslot le 5 décembre 1560 malgré la présence de son chirurgien Ambroise Paré.

Hotel Groslot.

Jacques Groslot, bailiff of the city, built this house in the Renaissance. The hotel is Groslot built under the direction of the architect Jacques I Androuet Hoop. On October 18, 1560, King François II moved his court in the hotel to show his opposition to Jerome Groslot, strong supporter of the Protestant Reformation.

François II died in hotel Groslot December 5, 1560 despite the presence of his surgeon Ambroise Pare.
