Description
English: Osnabrück, Lower Saxony, Germany. The so-called "Hohe Brücke" ("High Bridge"), crossing the river Hase. The bridge is part of the defences of the historical Old Town and is equipped with gun ports. The bridge dates from the 15th or 16th century.
Deutsch: Die sogenannte "Hohe Brücke" in Osnabrück (Niedersachsen, Deutschland). Sie überspannt den Fluß Hase und verbindet die Vitischanze mit einer Bastion (ganz links im Bild). Der Inschriftstein zeigt die Jahreszahl 1564, doch wird der Bau der Brücke bereits im 15. Jahrhundert vermutet. Die Brücke ist Bestandteil der städtischen Wehranlagen und weist Schießscharten für Feuerwaffen auf.
