The Ottoman Bank İzmir branch, which opened in 1856 on the İkinci Kordon Avenue, suffered severe damage on the night of September 15 during the 1922 fire. Temporary premises were used until 1926 when the bank decided to build a new permanent İzmir branch. The new bank building was designed by the inhouse architect Giulio Mongeri. It still exists today as a three floor building located on the corner of Fevzi Paşa Avenue in Konak. The first two floors are dedicated to the bank’s business while the third is used to house the director. In a similar style to the Ankara branch the top floor was left half-open to host a terrace, this was later modified by enclosing the space with glazing.
