Summary edit

Description
English: Ottringham Ings, Ottringham, East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
This pond on the east side of Ottringham Ings provides a watering hole for red deer and a safe haven for wildfowl, except of course in the hunting season. On the right of the picture is Westlands Plantation. Traditionally, the 'ings' referred to better drained areas of pasture land where hay could be cut in the summer, as opposed to the 'carrs' which were poorly drained and only used for pasture when the water level was low.
