Description
English: Outlet, Torness power station Just like coal fired Cockenzie, up the coast, Torness is effectively a giant kettle. Splitting uranium atoms instead of burning coal provides heat, but water is still turned to steam and drives turbines. Once the steam has condensed it is released back into the sea but 10°C warmer. The warm water attracts fish, hence the anglers on the rocky beach.
