| Description |
This was a part of the storm we had back on 5 October 2022. The rain had started to come down hard at my usual shooting spot so I bailed out and started home. I was going to call it quits for the night but decided to go up under the canopy of our new pool and try some shots since the storm was headed that way. Nothing much was happening then this monster decided to bust loose! I hadn't changed my camera setting for this new spot yet so this was shot at f/7, ISO 100, 28mm with 30 seconds on the BULB. This bolt was close enough that when it cut loose it pretty much overpowered the settings and looked like a large white blob with a bolt coming out of it. I used some software on the shot and dropped the exposure by 2 full stops to get to this point. I played with it a bit more but there were halos starting to show around everything so I set everything back to zero other than the exposure. |
