| Description | This is an overview of the Thaumadhi Sqr.in the Bhaktapur Bhaktapur Durbar Square in Bhaktapur, Nepal. In the foreground, you can see the large wooden wheels and planks stored for assembly of a temple charriot for a procession where the head of the presiding deity of the Bhairabnath temple is carried around town. I had mentioned this in a previous caption while talking about the Bhairabnath temple. Yu can see pictures of this temple and the notes about those wheels earlier in this album. (see previous pictures). To the right of where I am standing is also a Pottery Square- I did not photograph that as there was no pottery on display or in the process of being moulded, so it was just a large open area lit brightly by the harsh late morning sun. Many of the city streets run into this Taumadhi Square and eventually into the Bhaktapur Durbar Square. (Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Nepal, Oct/ Nov 2019) |
