Description YOKOSUKA, Japan -- The U.S. Navy and Indian navy, including observers from Mauritius and Madagascar, took part in a multinational search and rescue exercise off the East Coast of India, 12-15 Dec 2001. Operating from Goa, India, the U.S. Navy was be represented by a Lockheed P-3C Orion patrol and reconnaissance aircraft and crew, while Indian navy participation included a Sea King helicopter and a surface ship. During the exercise, participants practiced coordinated and integrated maritime surveillance and search and rescue procedures in realistic operations at sea.
