English: P-51C Mustang's of the 5th Fighter Squadron, 52nd Fighter Group at Madna Airfield in Italy, July 1944. Note:
  • s/n 43-24859, North American P-51B-15-NA Mustang, (5th FS, 52nd FG, 15th AF) crashed 3 mi E of Castel Frentano, Italy after aircraft caught fire May 4, 1945. Pilot bailed out and survived, aircraft was destroyed.
  • s/n 42-103426 P-51C-5-NT Mustang, condemned salvage Sep 7, 1945. (Joe Baughers USAF Serial Number Search Results, Serial Number Criteria: 42-103426).
