Description |
Oscar "Happy" Felsch (1891–1964) played centerfield for the Chicago White Sox in 1915-1920. A lifetime .293 hitter, he was a member of the World Series champion White Sox in 1917, batting in 102 runs that year. He was one of the eight players involved in the 1919 World Series Black Sox scandal, in which the players allegedly received payments from gamblers to throw the series. During the series, Felsch hit poorly and misplayed fly balls in center field, as the White Sox lost the series five games to three. |
