The end of steam in Masuria. Branch line services were operating to Bartoszyce, Wegorszewo and Skandawa hauled by Ty2 locomotives like this one on the same day. though Bartoszyce was also served by diesel hauled trains. Lidzbark Warminski had ceased to be served by trains at this time, thought tickets still showed the destination. The tickets cost 2400 Zlotys each, but had been upgraded from 910 Zl and a later doubled price of 1820 zl. Interestingly, the distance varies by 1km over the same route, depending which end it is measured from! By this time, the line to Lidzbark Warminski had closed, so the ticket on the right was in effect obsolete in part. Czerniki was on the Wegorsewo (Angerburg) branch which was still open then, but has since closed. |
