De kop, 17 cm, vormt een voetstuk voor; een zetelende figuur, wellicht Sint-Bavo, met hoofddeksel en hermelijnkap,; die twee attributen in handen hield. De zetel is met tandlijstjes; en dierekoppen versierd en door voluten gesteund (slechts; twee bewaard).; Inschrift op een bandje rond de zetel : BACVLVS CONSISTORIALII; CVRIE EPI(S)COPALGIASN DAVENSIS. Het vierkant voetstuk is gegraveerd; en met een tandlijstje afgewerkt; aan de vier zijden zijn vier; wapenschilden bevestigd, die onderaan met de staf verbonden zijn; door een volute (slechts drie bewaard). Op elke hoek, een griffioenvolute; (kén beschadigd). Drie van de huidige geschilderde wapenschilden; onder glas dagtekenen pas uit het einde der XVIIIde eeuw;; v66raan, van Mgr. de Lobkowitz; links van kanunnik Maxim.; Mach. de Meulenaere ; rechts niet geïdentificeerd. Alleen dat van de; Sint-Baafsheerlijkheid, achteraan, schijnt nog oorspronkelijk.; Inschrift op de ring onderaan : 1591 WE(EG1T) 15 ON(SEN).; Gentse keurstempel helm (afb. 242, a); M voor 1591 ; meesterteken; van Jan De BLIE, ingeschreven in 1582 (Casier, pl. 11).; Tent.
