De legeraanvoerder in; antieke wapenrusting, en met bevelhebbersstaf in de hand, vergezeld; van een hogepriester, wijst enerzijds naar het slagveld met de; talrijke doden en anderzijds naar zijn dienaars die het verzamelde; geld in koffers en zakken op twee paarden laden. Deze laatsten hebben; een helderrode vederbos op het hoofd. Landschap met stadsruïne; en lage gezichtseinder.; Oorspronkelijk altaarschilderij van het altaar van de Gelovige Zielen; in de noordelijke transeptarm, geschonken door bisschop A. Triest; die er tevens in 1653 een confrerie had ingesteld (Hellin, 477). Niet; vermeld door de Sadeleire; vermeld als een fray italiaensch stuck; Moyses en Aaron (U.B.G., G 6598 fol. 182-183) en als sujet de l'ancien; testament door G. Honthorst in de Goesin 1771.; Na het afbreken van de altaren in het transept overgebracht naar; kapel V (Gillis van de Vivere, U.B.G., G 9448) ; v66r 1819 (de Goesin,; 20) naar de kapel XVII; v66r 1853 naar de krocht (Notice, 81 ;; Kervyn, 191) ; gerestaureerd in 1954.; De toeschrijving van Hellin, 477, aan Honthorst is best te verdedigen.; Niet vermeld door J.
