Description PR-06-CN-454-C7-F6-46: U.S. Naval Radio Station, La Fayette, France, Building Plaque. Plaque reads, “La Fayette Radio Station in Honor of General La Fayette / Conceived for the purpose of insuring adequate and uninterrupted Trans-Atlantic communication facilities between the American Expeditionary Forces engaged in the World War and the Government of the United States of America. Erected by the U.S. Navy in conjunction with and for the Government of France. Work started May 28, 1918 and was completed August 21, 1920. Secretary of the Navy Josephus Daniels Collection.
