Cada estetasco (A) está inervado por alrededor de 320 neuronas ORN cuyos somas forman un grupo (ORN) debajo de la cutícula (C). Los segmentos dendríticos internos que surgen apicalmente de los somas de ORN están envueltos por células auxiliares (AC).
Recuadro: cada segmento dendrítico interno (iD) da lugar a dos segmentos dendríticos externos altamente ramificados (oD).
