Residencia oficial do Príncipe Regente do Brasil período de 1808 a 1821. Foi em 1815 que o Brasil deixou de ser colônia e passou a condição de “Reino Unido a Portugal e Algarves” e as capitanias passaram a chamarem-se províncias.

Official residence of the Prince Regent of Brazil period 1808-1821. It was in 1815 that Brazil ceased to be a colony and spent the condition of "United Kingdom of Portugal and the Algarve" and captaincies began to call themselves provinces.
