Summary edit

Description
English: The vessel was discovered in 1959 during rescue excavations in the area of the Stefan Żeromski Hospital in Kraków, which uncovered, among others, the remains of a rich La Tene culture settlement. The clay flask was thrown on a high-speed potter’s wheel and decorated with horizontal strips, painted with white and dark red clay. Both the technique of manufacture, as well as the form of the dish and its decoration, are typical of the late La Tene culture on the European territories inhabited by the Celtic population. This painted ceramic item, thrown on a potter’s wheel, is also painted in a manner typical of the latest settlement phase associated with the presence of Celts in Lesser Poland (Małopolska). It was made in local pottery workshops in the 1st century BC, at the beginning of the new era.
