Summary
editDescriptionPalais de Danse - geograph.org.uk - 1302550.jpg |
English: Palais de Danse Former dance-hall in Fountainbridge awaiting its uncertain fate. Opened in 1920, it flourished during the halcyon days of ballroom dancing in the 1930s and 1940s, and was still in use until 1967 when it succumbed to the Bingo craze that swept the nation. One of its patrons in the 1950s was the young future actor, Sean Connery, who lived a few minutes away along the same street. |
