Description

rue de Charonne, Paris 11 Construit en 1910 pour la fondation Groupe des Maisons Ouvrières (financée par Madame Amicie Lebaudy), le bâtiment servait d'hôtel populaire pour hommes célibataires. Le foyer se vide en 1914, quand ces hommes célibataires sont mobilisés pour la Première Guerre mondiale. Le bâtiment se transforme alors en hôpital de guerre. Puis de 1919 à 1924, le ministère des Pensions y installe ses bureaux.

L'immeuble a été acheté par l'Armée du salut en 1926 pour y loger des femmes (logement social privé, loyers de 430 euros par mois pour 10 m2, en 2011)
