Italiano: Il dipinto ritrae Maria Teresa d'Austria-Este (1773/1832). La giovane età del personaggio, andata in moglie a Vittorio Emanuele I di Savoia nel 1789, e l'assenza dei tradizionali attributi connessi all'assunzione del titolo regio inducono ad ipotizzare una data prossima al matrimonio e comunque anteriore al 1802, anno in cui il consorte assume il titolo di re. Un analogo ritratto è presente a Racconigi ed è pubblicato nel testo di Noemi Gabrielli con attribuzione a Giovanni Panealbo, attivo tra il 1770 e il 1799. Allo stesso pittore è anche ricondotta una tela oggi conservata al Quirinale (proveniente da Palazzo Sanfelice a Roma) che presenta forti analogie con la presente. Il dipinto, come gli altri due ritratti presenti nella stanza, è inserito in un elegante trumeau e racchiuso da una ricca cornice, "in legno modanato e dorato, con grandi fiori e nastri alla base e alla sommità" (cfr. inventario 1966), realizzati da Francesco Bolgiè nel 1789 e, come testimoniano gli inventari storici, dal 1881 ad oggi probabilmente non subì spostamenti. |
