Description
Original caption: Panorama from corner of park looking Northeast, showing Advance Motor Transport Corps Overhaul Park, A.P.O. 721. This park was founded May 13, 1918 by Major Robert R.M. Morgan with a personnel of 15 officers and 130 enlisted men. With him he brought 15 trucks and 1 motorcycle, which he increased in proportion, until now they have 71 officers and 1600 enlisted men, divided into 9 units. Nov. 10, 1918, Major Morgan was replaced by major Barton P. Root, Administrative Officer for M.T.C. Advance Section S.O.S. Convoys of trucks are brought here from seaports, put in shape, and sent to the front. This panorama shows thousands of cars and whole park, the receiving Dept. of Cars in foreground. They are brought here first, then checked up, repaired, and taken to Issuing Depot. Dijon, Cote d'Or, France.
