| Description |
English: Panteg & Griffithstown railway station (site), Gwent Opened as Panteg in 1880 by the Great Western Railway on its line from Newport to Blaenavon, this station changed its name to Panteg & Griffithstown in 1898. It closed in 1962 to passengers and completely in 1965. View south towards Sebastopol and Newport. Although in a state of decay, the northbound platform building was still standing on the right when this image was taken. As the platforms were staggered, the southbound platform was further away, and has been long-since removed. The former goods shed also survives, in the distance and on the right of the former line. |
