Description

German WW2-era medium tank Official designation:- Panzerkampfwagen V Panther Ausf.G (Sd.Kfz.171) This Panther Ausf.G was built by MAN in July 1944 with the chassis No.120790. It was operated by the German 112th Panzer-Brigade and was one of several complete Panthers captured by the French 2e Division Blindée (2nd Armoured Division) on 13th September 1944, following the Battle of Dompaire. Taken to Paris to commemorate the victory, it eventually went on permanent display at Les Invalides, before joining the museum here in 1976. It has been restored in the markings it wore immediately after being captured and is on display in the ‘Germany 1934-1945’ hall. Musée des Blindés, Saumur, Pays de la Loire, France
