Description
Français : Les écorces mortes et l'espace qu'elles offrent lorsqu'elles se décollent constituent une niche écologique pour de nombreuses espèces d'invertébrés (ex : ici un papillon de nuit caché sous l'écorce le jour). On peut aussi y trouver des vertébrés (salamandres, amphibiens, chauve-souris), qui s'y réfugient (provisoirement ou pour passer l'hiver, ou comme ici pour y construire un nid). Cette zone («sous-corticale») est riche en insectes, araignées, cloportes et mille-pattes, importante pour un bon ensemencement du bois mort par les communautés saproxyliques. Lieu : Bois de la citadelle à lille, dans le nord de la France.
