Summary edit

Description
English: Ancient Egyptian papyrus containing a royal decree in epistolary form issued by pharaoh Ramesses XI and addressed to the viceroy of Kush Panehesy who, at this time, was militarily occupying Thebes. In the letter, Ramesses XI asks Panehesy to collaborate with the steward Yanusa, in order to obtain some Nubian goods. Some time later, Panehesy's lack of discipline will lead to his fall of favor. Reign of Ramesses XI, late 20th Dynasty, end of the New Kingdom, Turin, Museo Egizio, C.1896.
