Summary edit

Description
English: The former rectory of the Roman Catholic Church of the Transfiguration, 144 Mills Street at Stanislaus Street, Buffalo, New York, May 2020. Much unlike the usual aesthetic associated with architect Władysław Zawadzki, this Mediterranean Revival style building sports a raised basement, a shallow-pitched hipped roof sheathed with pantile and a pair of ground-floor bay windows to match, and a somewhat incongruous pointed arch crowning the front entrance, and itself crowned by a decorative stone hood. The building served as home to the head priest of the Transfiguration parish from 1925, when it was built, until 1993, when the parish was dissolved. It's now home to Paradise House, a substance abuse rehabilitation facility for women.
