Description
Deutsch: Die Île Nue (dt. nackte Insel) im Parc national de l'Archipel-de-Mingan in Québec/Kanada, mit einer fantastisch anmutenden Gruppe von Monolithen im Morgennebel. Monolithe sind natürlich entstandene Gesteins­blöcke, die vollständig aus derselben Gesteinsart bestehen. Vor rund 7.000 Jahren erst, direkt nach der letzten Eiszeit, tauchte das Mingan Archipel aus dem Meer auf, hob sich weiter an und die Sedimentgesteine mit ihren fein aufgeschichteten Kalkablagerungen waren der Erosion durch Wind und Wetter ausgesetzt. So bildeten sich bis heute teilweise bizarre Strukturen, Formen und Gebilde.
