My first encounter with a Parent Bug - Elasmucha grisea - consolation on yet another rainy day. On nettles near Alder beside the footpath from Garnier Road to St Cross, Itchen watermeadows, Winchester, Hampshire, UK, 4th July 2012. OS Grid Ref: SU478280

The faint scale you can glimpse is in 16ths of an inch.
