Description
Nederlands: De oudste historische vermelding van Beerse dateert van 1187 en betreft deze kerk. De patroonheilige, Sint-Lambertus,

was een bisschop die in de 7de-8ste eeuw Taxandrië of de huidige Kempen bekeerden. De kerktoren zoals we hem nu nog kennen, stond er al in de 15de eeuw, maar dan zonder

de hoge spits; die kwam er pas in 1888. De oude kerk stond ten oosten van de toren. Omdat de bevolking erg toegenomen was, besliste men in 1906 om een nieuwe en grotere kerk te bouwen. Tijdens de bouwwerken in 1908 stonden de twee kerken er tegelijkertijd met de toren in het midden. Na de inwijding van de nieuwe kerk op 17 februari 1909 werd de oude kerk afgebroken.
