English: Parry People Mover 139 002 passing under Parkfield Road bridge. The Parry People Mover has just left Stourbridge Town Railway Station, and is on its way to Stourbridge Junction Railway Station. It is housed in a depot there, with its sister vehicle 139 001. Only one vehicle is required to operate the service. The other is a reserve. 1376879
These vehicles are equally suitable for running on track in streets as trams. There is a lot of interest in possibly extending the track from the Town station further into Stourbridge's central area. That is not something which could happen quickly for both legal and financial reasons. However it would be hugely less expensive than providing an electric tram, and no overhead wires are required. |
