Description
English: Built in 1889 and designed by the New York-based architecture firm of Carrère and Hastings, this Venetian Renaissance Revival-Style church was built in memory of Henry Flagler’s daughter, Jennie Louise Benedict, whom died of complications from childbirth in March of 1889. Flagler, a lifelong Presbyterian, commissioned the construction of the church to honor her memory. The ornate church is a contributing structure in the Model Land Company Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
