| Description |
English: Lower part of male figure. Local dolomite stone, 540-530 BC. Its bear long chiton (tunic) and himation (cloak). The use of the local stone is indicative of ingenious workmanship, probably by a Samian sculptor, strongly influenced by the art of Miletus. Similar garments are customary in Ionian cities of Asia Minor, Samos and her colonies as well as areas under Ionian influence. Found at Ag. Eirene near Lefkes on Amorgos, vicinity of Minoa. Archaeological Collection of Amorgos, Inv. No. 218.
Čeština: Dolní část mužské postavy. Místní dolomit, 540-530 před n. l. Má dlouhý chitón (tuniku) a himation (plášť). Použití místního kamene je příznačné, důmyslné zpracování je pravděpodobně díle sochařem ze Samu, silně ovlivněným uměním Mílétu. Podobné oděvy jsou obvyklé v jónských městech Malé Asie, na Samu a v koloniích těchto měst, stejně jako v celé oblasti pod iónským vlivem. Nalezeno u kostela Ag. Eirene u Lefkes na Amorgu, nedaleko oblasti Minoa. Archeologická kolekce na Amorgu, inv. č. 218. |
