English: Partially restored ruin The 15th century tower house known as Balgonie Castle had fallen into a completely ruinous state until, in the late 1970s, restoration work began on the tower. It is now a popular and picturesque venue for weddings, complete with its own candle-lit chapel which may have been used by Mary Queen of Scots when she visited Balgonie in 1565. |
