English: The Golden Jubilee Museum of Agriculture located on an area of 500 rai was founded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives on the occasion of King Bhumibol Adulyadej's golden jubilee celebrations in 1996 to be a centre for education about development of traditional Thai Agriculture and modern agricultural technology so as to publicise agriculture-related activities, benevolence, and talent of His Majesty the King. The museum display an exhibition through a use of Magic version technique and 3- dimensional films, covering all aspects, e.g. forestry, fishery, and animal husbandry; plots of rice demonstration fields; a training centre; and a source for education on the royal projects royal projects under interesting themes –“The King Loves Us”, “Amazing Genetics”, “Into the Jungle”, “Water Is Life” etc.
The museum provides knowledge which can be translated into practice under the philosophy of sufficiency economy through a joyful learning experience using technologies, models, and simulations. The area outside features demonstrative agricultural plots, rice culture, mushroom cultivation, animal husbandry, vegetable planting in limited space, and production of manure, compost, bioextract, charcoal kiln, charcoal briquettes, wood vinegar), as well as power generation using solar cells. At the front of the buildings is also a market selling safe quality agricultural products from the Golden Jubilee Museum network and the Green Market network. |
