Description
Español: Patricio Javier de los Dolores Lynch Solo de Zaldívar (Santiago de Chile, 1 de diciembre de 1824 - alta mar, cerca de Tenerife, 13 de mayo de 1886), conocido como Patricio Lynch, fue un Vicealmirante de la Armada de Chile, General en Jefe del Ejército de ocupación del Perú y ministro plenipotenciario de Chile en España. Fue el quinto Vicealmirante de Chile, nombrado el 8 de agosto de 1883. Apodado en Chile el "Último Virrey del Perú" por su labor y operaciones realizadas en la ocupación de ese país. Fue hijo de Estanislao Lynch Roo, argentino de origen irlandés, y de Carmen Solo de Zaldívar Rivera. Inició su carrera en la Escuela Militar, de la que pasó a la armada a los 13 años. Participó en la Guerra contra la Confederación Perú-Boliviana, en la Primera Guerra del Opio de parte de Inglaterra y en la Guerra del Pacífico.1 Murió a bordo del vapor inglés Cotopaxi, en Tenerife.2
