Description
English: Hurricane Paula, a Category 2 storm with 100 mph winds, is seen here by the GOES-East satellite at 1715z. Paula is close to making landfall along the Yucatan Peninsula. After skirting the coast, Paula is expected to turn east towards the Cayman Islands. Five years ago next week, Hurricane Wilma was in the same location. At that time, Wilma became the strongest hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic basin. The record still stands.
