Wing Superintendent Gettysburg National Military Park Gettysburg, Pennsylvania Dear Mr. Wing: Re: D-66 Thank you for your letter of March 28. I am enclosing for your approval the text for the center section for the front of the South Carolina Memorial, the lists of the units which will be carved within the four panels, and the lists of members’ names of the South Carolina Confederate War Centennial commission and the members of the Gettysburg Memorial Committee which will be carved on the back of the center section. This is the entire text to be carved on the Memorial – and we shall appreciate receiving your approval as soon as possible. I am sending a copy of this letter and the lettering to Senator Olin D. Johnston, one of my Committee members, for his information. We look forward to meeting you at Gettysburg, and you will receive an invitation to our State’s reception following the dedication ceremonies.
