Description Arms of Pearse: Vert, a bend cotised or (Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884,, p.784 "Pearse of Middlesex and Norfolk"; also similar Vert, a bend cotised argent for "Pearse of Suffolk"). See sculpted (without tinctures) on ledger stone of William Pearse (1631-1711) in St Mary's Church, Shelton, Norfolk, inscribed: William Pearse, Gentleman, who died August 3rd, 1711, aged 80; also for Elizabeth, wife of Charles Pearse, who died August 10th, 1714, aged 34; and also for the wife of William Pearse, with no name or date. (Farrer, Edmund, Church Heraldry of Norfolk, Vol 1 (1885), p.199 [1])
