The experts at Bruun Rasmussen singled this painting out as a clear example of Krøyer being influenced by impressionist painters. They cited the resemblance to Claude Monet's 1873 painting of women and children in a puppy field near Argenteuil.

Object history Provenance: When Christensen made his list of paintings in 1923, it was owned by the engineer W. Triepcke (Marie Krøyer was born Triepcke).
Sold at Bruun Rasmussen Auctions on December 9, 2003 for DKK 2,400,000 (EUR 320,000) (Lot 727/1264).
Sold at Sotheby's, London on June 27, 2007 for GBP 344,800 (EUR 512,200) (Lot L07104/397) sothebys.com.
