Description according to Strelitzia 29. p. 596: An aromatic shrub to 1.2 m. Leaves palmatisect, roughly hairy, lemon-scented, ± 5 cm diam. Flowers to 6 on short, axillary peduncles, ± 20 mm diam., white to purplish; hypanthium 3–12 mm long, ± as long as pedicel. Aug.–Jan. Rocky sandstoneslopes, Namaqualand to E Cape.
